The best season in Bright, Victoria is a common debate.
For some, spring is unparalleled.
Sunny walks along the banks of the Ovens River, giant trees, flowers everywhere you look.
Summer enthusiasts aren’t easily swayed from their favourite time of the year.
They tell everyone about the mountain hikes, wild swims, and cloudless skies.
Others give autumn a high five.
The patchwork of bronze and gold across the valley, crunchy leaves, brisk weather.
Then there are those who relish winter.
Snow-capped mountains, hot toddies, and all that skiing, snowboarding and bike riding.
According to Ros Vodusek, the creative director of Rich Glen Olive Estate, the town is undoubtedly special, no matter what the season.
"But if I had to pick one, it would be winter," she said.
"It’s truly spectacular."
But, as she explains, the coldest season in the much-loved township is about much more than outdoor sports.
"There are so many Après activities on offer around this mountain town," she said.
"Where do I start?
"Eating and drinking with friends, warming yourself near an open fire, pampering yourself."
For those on Ms Vodusek’s side of the discussion, two Rich Glen stores - now located side-by-side in the heart of Bright - have everything necessary to warm locals and visitors up on those brisk wintery days and nights.
Lining the shelves of the retail spaces are Rich Glen products (some of them award winning), gourmet foods, small-batch pantry staples, botanicals, homewares, curated hampers and a refined skincare collection, alongside thoughtfully selected Australian brands that share the same commitment to quality, sustainability and integrity.
"Our company is about much more than bricks and mortar stores," Ms Vodusek said.
"We grow and harvest our own olives that we use in our products.
"We started on a property set on the banks of the Murray River in Yarrawonga generations ago.
"Now we have a host of stores – also in Echuca and Yarrawonga - that offer around 200 farm-grown creations.
"We care about what our customers put in and on their bodies.
"Why do I love winter in Bright?
"It’s an amazing town to be in.
"There’s a real buzz around the place at this time of the year.
"The fairy lights, the great restaurants and the tiny streets.
"‘But for those of us who prefer to stay inside and get warm, we offer exactly what you need for the ultimate wintry escape.
"Food and beverages that are distinctly regional.
"Indulgent skincare to treat dehydrated skin, hair and nails.
"Australian botanicals and warming aromatherapy based recipes to fill your senses."
