There is lots happening during the winter months at the Bright Art Gallery.
Starting with a most interesting solo exhibition by Thomas Lawler ‘Tom in the B.A.G.’ open from Saturday 30 May to Monday 15 June.
Tom is best known locally for his huge work ‘The Buckland Screens’, telling the story of the Buckland riots, this work will be on display during the Winter Exhibition.
This is Tom’s third solo exhibition at the Bright Art Gallery.
An impressive variety of works will be on display throughout the gallery.
Tom said this exhibition includes commissions, gifts, memorial works, paradoxical surprises and quicky ideas that took his fancy.
"These are roughly collated into related groupings for your viewing enjoyment," he said.
Open from Wednesday to Monday 10am to 4pm, closed on Tuesdays.
Open from Saturday 27 June to Monday 3 August will be the ‘Winter Exhibitions’.
Three simultaneous exhibitions sure to provide something for everyone.
The Alpine Artists (these are the 200 plus artist members of the gallery) have an exhibition of paintings, photographs and 3D work on the theme of 'Winter'.
EPHEMERA is a contemporary exhibition which will take place in the upstairs gallery.
From the gallery’s permanent collection an exhibition which will feature watercolours as well as The Buckland Screens and some of the gallery’s porcelain pieces.
These exhibitions will be open from Thursday to Monday 10am to 4pm, closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.
