Spring is a beautiful time to explore Glenrowan, and six months after opening its cellar door, Creative Spirits is giving visitors another reason to linger in one of the North East’s most character-filled towns.
Owned and operated by local makers Mike and Jodie Lebedevas, the small independent distillery offers a relaxed tasting experience built around handcrafted spirits, playful Australian-inspired flavours and genuine country hospitality.
Creative Spirits is already punching above its weight, earning nine medals at the Melbourne Royal Australian International Spirits Awards, including gold for its Citrus Fruit Salad.
The early recognition has been an exciting milestone for the Glenrowan business and a proud moment for the people behind it.
Visitors can settle in for a guided tasting featuring nine different spirits and liqueurs for $5, with a souvenir tasting glass to take home.
The range includes favourites such as the smooth and floral Banksia Honey Gin, the indulgent Raspberry Cream Lamington liqueur, and the rich Madem Espresso liqueur for coffee lovers.
Tastings run at an easy pace over about half an hour, giving guests time to slow down, have a chat and discover new favourites in the friendly atmosphere that has helped earn Creative Spirits a steady stream of five-star Google reviews.
The cellar door’s strong start comes as Glenrowan continues to build its profile as a welcoming visitor destination, with the town recently awarded silver in Victoria’s Top Tiny Tourism Town Awards in its first year entering the competition.
Small, local and still having plenty of fun, Creative Spirits is open Friday to Sunday from 11am to 4pm.
