Award–winning whisky and rum options

YACK Creek Distillery is situated on acreage two kilometres out of the township of Yackandandah with the creek to the east and the Stanley State forest to the south.

The pristine waters of the Yackandandah Creek were once known for their alluvial gold deposits, and now those same waters provide the lifeblood for the distillery.

The creek is also home to the Blue Murray Spiny Crayfish, with the creature's head and front claws making up their creative logo.

In 2020, Yack Creek Distillery won Champion Victorian Distillery in the Australian Distilled Spirits Awards (ADSA) run by The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) as well as Champion Australian Micro Batch Spirit 2020 for their Blackstrap Rum and silver and bronze for a number of their whiskies and gins.

In November last year, they were once again Champion Victorian Distillery 2022 and took home gold and silver for their whisky and rums and silver and bronze for their gins.

Craft beer was added to Yack Creek Distillery's product line in February 2021.

Jamie and his father John have created ales, bitters, IPAs, lagers and stouts for those who are looking for something different.

They have aged several beers in barrels previously used to mature the distillery's whiskies and rums and includes up to 20 craft beer taps.

Visitors are invited to experience the Yack Creek Distillery range of spirits, rum, craft beers, gin and whisky in the peaceful surroundings.

Create a platter from a selection of cheese, dips, olives, pastes and salami or bring your own picnic to enjoy on the grass, on a wooden daybed with pillows, couches, on stools around a wine barrel, at one of the picnic tables or at the stool and bar set ups.

Bringing your four–legged children is encouraged and welcomed, but for the most relaxing day, leave the two–legged ones at home because the grass and gorgeous surrounds are for you to enjoy – they have plenty of parks for that.

The new Epic mountain bike trail (linking Yackandandah to Beechworth) provides a beautiful walk or ride from the Yackandandah Township past the Gorge along the Yackandandah Creek and out onto the landscaped distillery surrounds.
