The Darling Estate Wines vineyard, Koombahla, became the upper King Valley’s first commercial vineyard when it was planted by Guy Darling in 1970.
Over 50 years on, the business is now operated by John Darling, with daughters Grace and Sophie.
Winemaker Sophie Darling said Darling Estate Wines is not just about selling handcrafted wines, but also home to her family and name.
“With each new generation we get to combine learned knowledge with new ideas and continue to innovate both in the vineyard and winery,” she said.
“Grandpa set the tone by pioneering grape growing in the King Valley and that spirit has been handed down to our Dad and now us.
“We are a small team and hands on with everything that we do.
“From the vineyard to the winery, to sharing our wines in the cellar door and beyond.”
The cellar door sits in the heart of the vineyard and with scenic views, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of fine wine with food.
