SUMMER time and the reading is easy – and can be even more relaxing and interesting following a visit to the St John's Book Sale on Saturday, January 28.
With a new influx of books to go over there will be an even bigger choice of reading materials to be purchased at this sale.
One of the organisers for the book sale on behalf of St John's Anglican Church, Trish Gilson, said, "People have been very generous donating many books all of which are in very good condition.
"We are very grateful for their donations which in turn gives visitors a bigger choice of reading materials which they can enjoy during the remainder of their holidays.
"Given the prices of the books are usually $1 to $2 it makes for very cheap reading," Ms Gilson said.
"Having the books in good condition is a bonus as well."
The members of St John's will be on hand to help guide visitors to the right reading materials they want to browse through.
Ms Gilson said a small band of helpers have gone through all the new supplies and a review of what is on offer has been done.
"The key is to have books in good condition," she said.
However, there will be no morning teas served at this sale as the weather is just too hot to keep scones fresh – at the March long weekend sale though the favorite Devonshire teas will return.
The book sale is held in St John's Hall (to the side of the church) in Highett Street and will open at 9am.
Book sales will continue until approximately 12.30pm (or until visitors stop coming through the doors).
