  • The Jindera Pioneer Museum was established in 1968 to showcase the heritage of the township of Jindera and the surrounding district. The museum is a window to life 150 years ago and Wagners Store reflects the emporium of products that were available at the time

The 2 acre site has on display three different life-style dwellings. The Slab Hut of the early workers in the area; the Wattle & Daub Cottage of the established village folk and the residence attached to Wagners Store, highlighting the size and style of a more well-to-do family.

There are two galleries featuring many interesting and beautiful items and the Russel Drysdale collection of sketches. There is a large display of machinery and farming equipment and a tiny post office that was in situ 6 km from Jindera. This is also purported to be where Dan Morgan’s mail was directed and collected.

This is all found in a lovely garden setting, in which you can take Devonshire Tea on a Sunday, bring a picnic on another day of the week, or just sit and enjoy the tranquil and inviting atmosphere that permeates this historic site.
