Pussy Galore and more as MGs upstage Aston Martins

The streets of Euroa purred with the sound of fine British engineering on Thursday 11 September as 26 Aston Martins dropped into Binney Street for coffee on their way to Bowral, NSW.

The Aston Martin Owners Club (AMOC) of Victoria lined the street with a classy spread of cars, made popular by the James Bond series of movies, as they headed to the national AMOC gathering where owners from all over the country descended over the weekend.

The popular concour d'elegance (competition of elegance) will see vehicles judged in their class and year of production.

Of note is the Pussy Galore prize, awarded to the overall best looking 'sexy' car.

A somewhat aloof bunch, members like to lie low, which is understandable.

Their cars do all the talking.

However, the visit was out-numbered on Sunday when 32 MGs (T-types, MGAs, and MGBs) from the Australian MG Enthusiasts Car Club rolled into town on the local leg of the club's 58th Springtime Rally for morning tea.

The entourage had set off from Whittlesea on Saturday morning and enjoyed wonderful back roads to Shepparton's Museum of Vehicle Evolution for a tour and then Nagambie before a return drive to Euroa and Yea the next day, culminating with luncheon at the Yea Country Club.
