MYRTLEFORD'S busiest weekend will bring thousands of tourists to the town over Easter, with accomodation almost fully booked by last week.

Myrtleford Chamber of Commerce president Jim Van Geet was expecting another "bumper" Easter.

"This is probably the biggest weekend of the year; autumn is our major tourist time and always has been and the current figures on tourism trade indicates it's at a 2019 level," he said.

"Most of the eateries are booked out, accomodation is basically booked out as well so we're definitely expecting another bumper Easter.

"We're looking forward to it but it does really stretch all the resources we have, especially this year as it's been tough to get staff so everyone will be working flat out over Easter.

"Then we've got Anzac Day and school holidays not long after that so it's a bit of a triple whammy; everyone is gearing up as much as possible."

Myrtleford Holiday Park was almost fully booked for the Easter weekend, primarily because of the tennis tournament which takes place within walking distance of the park according to holiday park co–manager Sue Robinson.

"My husband John and I have been here three weeks and the cabins are nearly 100 per cent booked and the powered sites are definitely booked out," she said.

"It's quite hectic."
