Celebrate pride on the slopes as Gay Ski Week returns to Falls Creek

AUSTRALIA'S biggest Winter Pride Festival takes place at Falls Creek in September, offering a great gay time for the entire LGBT+ family, celebrating 13 seasons this year.

Australia’s only national pride event, Gay Ski Week runs from September 1 to 10, and celebrates pride on the slopes.

Over the 10 fabulous days and two weekends, the event will deliver frosty alpine fun and nine sizzling nights of entertainment.

Daily events, après and social skiing and boarding are packed into the program - there is plenty of action on and off the slopes.

Stay on-mountain and enjoy some of the best snow conditions in Australia, plus a great group of people to share it with.

With more than 50 events, activities, parties, aprés and snow action happening across the resort “guests are guaranteed a great gay time” according to Adam Bold, founder of Gay Ski Week Australia.

“Falls Creek is Australia’s best alpine village.

"It has that European alpine village feel, but with gum trees.

"The local community is incredibly welcoming to us and our guests, and have realised over the past few seasons, just how much fun we are, and how much fun they can have with us.

“Seeing our guests being able to be their authentic selves, and just enjoying themselves and making new friends is such a highlight.

"With everyone welcome at GSWA, we have a great melting pot of guests from all over the country and internationally, connecting with each other and discovering common bonds over their love of all things snow!

"We break down barriers and new friendship are forged.”

With hundreds of participants, a good handful of queer entertainers, two amazing entertainment hubs, multiple event venues, 10 days, nine nights, two weekends, and a gay old time, this will be a uniquely Australian alpine adventure.

“The sense of celebration and community is unmatched; it is such a fun event, and we are very proud to support and host Gay Ski Week here at Falls Creek,” says Betony Pitcher, marketing manager at Falls Creek Ski Lifts.

“I’m so excited with the number of repeat guests from last season, plus we have a heap of new faces joining us in 2023.

"It’s a testament to the incredible line up of queer entertainers we had last year, as all the talent are back with us again, including performer Frock Hudson, the queer alter ego of cabaret comedian and industry darling Dean Arcuri.

"We are ready for some serious fun at Falls Creek in September!” said Adam.
