National Jazz Award winner praises award

PAST National Jazz Award winner Kristin Berardi has applauded the decision to run this year’s competition, regardless of what form the 30th Wangaratta Festival of Jazz and Blues takes.

Submissions for the award have been open throughout this month, and close on Monday, with the focus of the competition this year on vocals, as it was when Kristin won in 2012.

While the festival board is still in the midst of plans for how the 2020 festival will run - whether live, part-live and part-online, or completely online - Kristin said she was pleased the opportunity to vie for the jazz award title was available considering the impact of COVID-19 on the arts sector this year.
