THERE is so much more to winter skiing, snowboarding and fun at the top of the world – Mt Buller.
And the Easter long weekend break, combined with school holidays, gives families the huge opportunity to enjoy the mild autumn days.
On Sunday there will be the annual Easter Egg Hunt starting at 11.30am where there will be 10,000 eggs hiding around the village just waiting for keen–eyed kids with a taste for chocolate to help find them.
The mountain will offer something for every member of the family to do, whether it requires lots of energy or just relaxing and watching others have fun.
Enjoy mountain biking, bushwalks, trail running, the Mountain High Fun Run, markets, the fabulous Buller Air Zone's indoor rock climbing and trampolining, and the famous Easter Egg Hunt.
On Saturday, April 8 the Mountain High fun Run will be held and can include all members of the family.
You can take part in a leisurely lap around the village with a 5km run with DJ prizes for first, second and third.
Proceeds from this event will be donated to the Mansfield District Hospital.
On the Sunday, apart from the eggs–citedable egg hunt, there will be a village square market which will also include games for the little kids and big kids as well as the Pump Track – just to keep everyone on wheels entertained until the sun goes down.
Some 18 stalls will be at the market with a wide range of locally produced goodies to purchase.
Other interests to keep you occupied include the ever–popular Buller Gnome Roam – a favourite with the kids as they take a self–guided tour of the mystical gnome world of the mountain village. Copies of the Mt Buller Gnome Roam can be collected from Alpine Central.
Of course hikes through the High Country are also very popular with some of the favourite tracks being Mt Buller Summit on the Summit Nature Walk, Little Buller Spur ski run or why not hop across to Mt Stirling and experience the breathtaking view back toward Mt Buller.
Explore nature on this pristine mountain by following the trails.
For relaxing there is nothing better than a trip down to the bottom of the mountain and having a picnic at Mirimbah Park – sit beside the Delatite River (if it's still hot dabble your feet in the cool running waters).
Of course for the more adventurous and energetic you can bike ride or walk your way to the bottom.
At Mirimbah Park there is a kid's playground, toilet block, shelters and free barbecues. And plenty of parking spaces.
